Oct 11, 2011 · That should cause FreeNAS to not use AHCI. It's possibly that your timeout message with change to "timeout waiting for write DRQ" but it's worth a shot. By the way, your symptoms sound just like mine. In my case after the initial time-out and freeze the system would be fine, provided I didn't set a spindown delay on the drives.
